Update 1 from BHT Trustees

Welcome to our first update to the Volunteers of the Blackbushe Heritage Trust (BHT). 

First, a big thank you to everyone who turned up to our inaugural volunteers evening on Monday 9th May 2022. We were delighted with the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by all, welcome to the team and lets always remember the 9th May as the start of the journey to bring Vickers Viking G-AGRW home to Blackbushe and restored for future generations to admire, so appropriate a Viking is returned to Blackbushe, home of so many in the 1950s. 

We are really thrilled to have you on board and excited that you all share our determination to bring GRW back to Blackbushe. 

Thank you for completing the volunteer forms - we are very happy to see that we have a broad range of talents registered that cover all the areas we require - more evidence that we can make this happen! If you are aware of other enthusiasts who would like to get involved with the BHT and the return and restoration of GRW then please ask them to submit details to us at www.BlackbusheHeritageTrust.com 

Going forward, there will be a broad range of tasks available for you to volunteer for and we plan to discuss this further at our next Volunteers evening to be announced in due course. We will have an exhibition at this event with a small sales stand, so if you are attending then please come over and say hello. We are keen to hear about your ideas and to retain your enthusiasm for this project and, as we say, you will hear more at the next volunteers evening. We need help setting up and running the stall so please let us know if you can assist. 

As ever, one of the key tasks is to get funds to get GRW home, and one idea is to have various Aviation evenings at the Pathfinder Café at Blackbushe where we will invite guest speakers or have slide shows and film nights and make a small charge to get additional funds for GRW. Of course, the bar will be open on these evenings as having fun is key! We welcome your ideas on how we can get extra funds.
